Rag Dolls Pulled from NJ Stores After Being Called Offensive

Certain rag dolls created for the purpose of being abused as stress relief have been pulled from New Jersey shelves.

This particular "Feel Better Doll", was made of black fabric with yarn hair in the colors red, green, black and yellow.

New Jersey state Assemblywoman Angela McKnight called the dolls “offensive” and “inappropriate” after seeing a post on them on social media.

The president of the stores that received the shipment, Ricky Shah, apologized for the dolls and said the lot wasn't checked over well enough before distributing them to the other stores.

According to NJ.com, the doll's manufacturer seems to not have responded to the controversy:

The dolls appear to be manufactured by a seemingly defunct company called Harvey Hutter & Co. Phone numbers associated with the company are out of service.
An email sent to the address that appears below the poem on each of the dolls was not returned. The company’s website is also not operational.
