Authorities in New Zealand have apprehended two suspects who they say have been sneaking onto a food truck and stealing sushi. However, instead of sending the violators to jail, officers say they've dumped them into the ocean.

The suspects in the case are penguins, according to Wellington District Police. Officers, responding to a second report of missing sushi on Monday, found the little thieves camped out under the food truck, they say. "It’s pretty insane, the idea that some penguins are camping out under your shop," sushi server Wini Morris says. "But it’s adorable, I think -- they’re probably terrified, but it’s adorable."

After detaining the penguins for a short time, officers released them into Wellington Harbor -- where finding food is going to take a little more work.
