GRANADA HILLS (CNS) - An investigation was underway today into the discovery of a suspicious but non-explosive item outside a mosque in Granada Hills.

A bomb squad was sent to the Islamic Center of Northridge at 11439 Encino Ave. about 8 p.m. Sunday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The area was evacuated as a precaution, and the bomb squad determined that the item was a pressure cooker, which had not been converted into a bomb, said LAPD Sgt. Kevin Cuartas of the Devonshire Division.

No injuries were reported.
