``Bug Bombs'' Damage Apartment in North Hollywood; No Injuries Reported

NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - An apartment in the North Hollywood area sustained minor damage today from ``bug bombs'' set off inside the residence, but no injuries were reported, authorities said.

Firefighters went to the apartment building in the 6400 bock of North Denny Avenue about 10:15 a.m. on a report of an explosion, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

``Multiple 'bug bombs' (were) used ...,'' Stewart said. ``No continuing life hazards exists.''

The residents were evacuated, she said.

A Los Angeles police officer who responded to the scene was evaluated by paramedics for a ``medical complaint,'' Stewart said.
