Toni Braxton's Niece Lauren's Cause Of Death Revealed

61st Annual GRAMMY Awards - Arrivals

The cause of death of Toni Braxton's niece, Lauren Braxton, has been revealed.

According to an autopsy report obtained by E! News on Thursday (June 27), a Maryland medical examiner's office determined Lauren died of a "heroin overdose and fentanyl intoxication." The 24-year-old, who was the daughter of Toni's younger brother Michael Conrad Braxton Jr., died April 29 in Maryland.

As TMZ previously reported, Lauren was unresponsive when law enforcement arrived at her home in response to a 911 call made around noon that Monday. A police report procured by the outlet indicates paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene, as she was discovered on the floor after leaving her in the kitchen to go upstairs for only 10 minutes.

Lauren was also niece to Braxton singers and sisters Toni, Traci, Towanda, Trina, and Tamar Braxton. Michael, the only son of the Braxton brood, has appeared on episodes of the family-focused TV series Braxton Family Values alongside his siblings.

In the wake of the tragedy, the "Breathe Again" musician took to Instagram with a heartbreaking tribute written in Lauren's memory. “R.I.P to my amazing niece Lauren ‘Lo Lo’ Braxton…I’m still in disbelief and so very heartbroken 😥💔 Love you…always auntie ‘Te Te,’” Toni captioned a sweet, nostalgic image of the pair together.

Trina and Traci soon followed with tributes of their own. "God sent me another angel! Rest in Heaven Lauren “LoLo” Braxton. ❤️," Trina wrote, with Traci telling TMZ, "LoLo was more than my niece, she was my daughter; and I, my son and husband are truly heartbroken over her passing."
