Arrest Warrant Issued For Man Accused of Stealing Liquor, Threatening Employee

SANTA ANA (CNS) - Police today sought the whereabouts of a 35-year-old homeless man on probation who allegedly took a bottle of alcohol from a Santa Ana Rite Aid store, threatening a store security officer in the process.

Michael Boyce Davis allegedly entered the store at 3325 S. Bristol St. about 9 a.m. on June 1, took the bottle from a shelf and tried to leave without paying, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.

“When Davis was contacted by store security, he raised the bottle in the air as if he was going to strike the security guard,” according to a police statement. “Fearing for her safety, the security guard backed away and Davis left the location with the merchandise.”

According to police, Davis is on probation for robbery.

A warrant has been issued for Davis' arrest. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts was urged to contact Santa Ana police Detective D. Prewett at 714-245-8323 or dprewettsanta-ana.org.
