The New York Times recently published an article with the headline "Mexico Agreed to Take Border Actions Long Before Trump Announced Tariff Deal," and President Trump was not happy about it...
Trump had previously threatened a 5 percent tariff on all Mexican goods, unless Mexico could put an end to illegal immigration into the United States. Last Friday, Mexico agreed.
“Mexico was not being cooperative on the Border in things we had, or didn’t have, and now I have full confidence, especially after speaking to their President yesterday, that they will be very cooperative and want to get the job properly done,” Trump said.
