US and Russian Warships Almost Collide in Philippine Sea

The US Navy says one of its warships almost collided with a Russian destroyer in the Philippine Sea.

US Seventh Fleet spokesman Commander Clayton Doss says the Russian vessel "accelerated and closed to an unsafe distance of 50-100 feet" from the USS Chancellorsville, forcing the Navy ship to scramble to avoid collision. 

The Navy called the Russian ship's actions "unsafe and unprofessional" and released video of the incident, part of which you can see below:
