OC Shelter Has Taken in Nearly 140 Shih-Tzus After Being Found With Hoarder

The animal shelter in Orange County was at capacity when nearly 140 dogs were brought in from one home in Orange. OC Animal Care’s Jessica Novillo says the community has already dropped off more than enough dog food and supplies.

Until the dogs are ready to be adopted, "they are being looking at and being monitored every single day and cared for just like we would do any other dogs."

Novillo added that there are other ways for those interested in adopting to help out. "Right now they are not available for adoption, but for anyone who wants to help the best thing that we can say is that we already had hundreds of dogs and cats here available for adoption and we are looking for the community to come and adopt."

She says mostly Shih-Tzu’s were brought in last Thursday from the large upscale home in Orange. Prosecutors say each of the dogs pulled out of the large upscale home will need to be medically evaluated before a decision on charges is made.
