LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Police today arrested a domestic violence suspect who led them on a high-speed car chase from Van Nuys to Mission Hills, where he surrendered after driving onto a residential property.
Officers sent to Vanowen Street and Fulton Avenue about 1 p.m. on a domestic violence report began following a white car that sped from the area, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
After a few minutes, police decided to track the car via a helicopter, while ground units backed off from an active pursuit.
About 1:20 p.m., the motorist drove into a driveway in the area of Maclay Street and Bartee Avenue in Mission Hills, where he got out of the car and appeared to lock a gate across the driveway.
Officers in patrol vehicles pulled up outside the residence, and the suspect was taken into custody about 20 minutes later. He was not immediately identified.
