Man Suspected Of Killing Woman With E-Scooter Now In Custody

An innocent woman was beaten to death with an electric scooter while outside of a friends house in Long Beach on Monday. Now, the man that attacked her has been booked on suspicion of murder.

Long Beach firefighters were the first on the scene when they found 63-year-old Rosa Manjarrez with "significant injuries". She was pronounced dead at the scene according to police. Her attacker immediately ran away from the scene, but was found later that afternoon at a business.

"We are deeply saddened by this act of violence and our hearts and thoughts go out to the victim and her family," a spokesperson with the e-scooter rental company, Bird, said in an emailed statement. "We will work with local law enforcement to help with the investigation into this tragedy."

The man's name has not yet been released by police, but he is currently being held on $2 million bail. The investigation is still ongoing, but you can check out all of the details on KTLA.
