Showers Expected in Southland through Sunday

US-WEATHER-RAIN

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Showers are forecast today through Sunday as a result of a low-pressure system out of Nevada, according to the National Weather Service.

Also expected during the four-day period are thunderstorms in the mountains and possibly along the coast and in valley areas on Friday and Saturday, said NWS meteorologist Andrew Rorke.

This type of weather is “an early-April kind of event” and unusual for May, Rorke said.

The NWS forecast mostly cloudy skies and showers in L-A County today and highs of 56 degrees on Mount Wilson; 64 in Avalon; 66 at LAX; 68 in Saugus, Burbank and Long Beach; 69 in Downtown L.A., Pasadena and San Gabriel; 70 in Woodland Hills; and 75 in Palmdale and Lancaster. Temperatures will remain in the high 60s and low 70s through at least Wednesday.
