Ever since it was announced that LeBron James will be playing in the same role as Michael Jordan in the sequel to Space Jam, fans have had mixed emotions about it.
As of late, people have been speculating who would fit in with James in Space Jam 2.
Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo have came out and said they aren't interested. It's being said that Steph Curry and James Harden wouldn't be able to be in the movie because of their shoe deals with Under Armour and Adidas, respectively.
I'm guessing the movie is going to be heavily surrounded by the Nike swoosh.
ESPN's First Take host Stephen A. Smith decided to make a top-5 list on the show. The picks are kind of head-scratchers.
Joel Embiid and Boban Marjanovic might be pretty cool to see, but Embiid is Team UA. Damian Lillard would be a cool addition, but he's Team Adidas. Coach Stan Van Gundy and WNBA star Diana Taurasi would be interesting as well.
If shoe deals are a problem, two out of the five on Smith's list are out of the question.
James' teammate Lonzo Ball has said he would love to be in the movie.
The list isn't bad, but it might not be the rave Warner Bros. is looking for.
Jordan's movie in 1996 had a star-studded cast, from actors Wayne Knight and Bill Murray to NBA legends Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley and Larry Bird.
James definitely has some tough shoes to fill, to say the least.
The movie is supposedly starting filming this summer and the release is expected in 2021.
