'Dumbo' Opens With $45M To Lead Box Office

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Disney's live-action “Dumbo” remake topped the box office this weekend, taking in an estimated $45 million, according to industry figures out today.

The horror film “Us” was second with an estimated $33.6 million Friday through Sunday at theaters in the United States and Canada, Comscore reported.

Disney's “Captain Marvel” finished third with $20.5 million in its fourth week in theaters.

“Five Feet Apart,” a young-adult romantic drama, was fourth with $6.2 million, and “Unplanned” followed with $6.1 million.

Rounding out the top 10 releases were “Wonder Park” ($4.9 million), “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” ($4.2 million), “Hotel Mumbai” ($3.1 million), “Tyler Perry's A Madea Family Funeral” ($2.7 million) and “The Beach Bum” ($1.8 million).
