Body Recovered In Amazon Prime Air Cargo Plane Crash

A body has been recovered following the crash of an Amazon Prime cargo plane near Houston, Texas. Authorities are still trying to determine what caused the Boeing 767 to crash into Trinity Bay as it made its approach to George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

When the twin-engine jet was at around 6,300 feet, it began to nose-dive and hit the shallow water at a high rate of speed, shattering on impact. Officials said the largest piece of wreckage they found was just 50-feet long.

There were three people on board the plane when it went down. Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne said he doesn't believe anyone could have survived the crash.

"There was nothing intact of the airplane," Hawthorne said. "Knowing what I saw, I don't think anyone could survive it."

Investigators are continuing to search the half-mile wide debris field for the plane's black box and the bodies of the other two members of the crew. The area where the aircraft crashed can only be reached by flat-bottom boats, which makes the salvage work more difficult.

"I've been out there on a boat a few times where you're basically boating on dry sand and then just a few feet from there it's super deep," Brian Ligon, a spokesman for the city of Mont Belvieu told the Houston Chronicle.
