On Monday night in Texas, President Trump will hold his very first rally of 2019.
Hosted in El Paso, the President plans to use the small Texas town to further his argument for the country's need for a border wall. Trump says that a wall will stop the influx of crime and drugs brought into towns like El Paso, as well as stop migrants seeking illegal entry into the United States.
But President Trump isn't the only speaker planned for Monday night in El Paso. Former Representative Beto O'Rourke will also hold a rally.
“The border city of El Paso, Tex., used to have extremely high rates of violent crime — one of the highest in the entire country, and was considered one of our nation’s most dangerous cities. Now, immediately upon its building, with a powerful barrier in place, El Paso is one of the safest cities in our country,” Trump said.
President Trump is set to speak at a Make America Great Again rally at the El Paso County Coliseum. Beto O'Rourke is scheduled to march with supporters to the Chalio Acosta Sports Center, about a half-mile away from Trump's rally. Both are set for 7 p.m.
