Long Beach Importer Recalling 1,000 lbs Of Fish

LONG BEACH (CNS) - The Long Beach firm Q's American Best Trading Inc. is recalling approximately 1,008 pounds of imported Siluriformes fish products that were not presented for import re-inspection into the United States, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced today.

The frozen, 14-oz. clear bag packages containing Sheat fish were imported from Vietnam on Dec. 25, 2018 and shipped to retail locations in California, regulators said.

The problem was discovered on Jan. 29 during FSIS surveillance activities of imported products at the distributor facility.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products, the USDA said, but consumers who have purchased these products were urged to throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.

FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers. When available, the retail distribution list(s) will be posted on the FSIS website at www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls .
