Long Beach Man Pleads to Attempted Lewd Act on Child at Wedding

SAN FERNANDO (CNS) - A Long Beach man pleaded no contest today to trying to sexually assault a 5-year-old girl at a wedding reception in Valencia.

Jeff Boulter, 40, entered his plea to a felony count of attempted lewd act on a child and a misdemeanor count of indecent exposure.

He was ordered to complete one year of sex-impulse counseling, and will return to court March 18, 2020, for formal sentencing, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors said Boulter led the girl to a dark corner during a wedding reception on May 19, 2018. He was spotted by a server who confronted him, prompting him to flee, prosecutors said. He was arrested the next day.

Boulter had originally been charged with one felony count each of kidnapping to commit oral copulation, kidnapping for child molesting, kidnapping a victim under 14, forcible lewd act upon a child, lewd act upon a child and attempted forcible oral copulation of a victim under 14 years old. He could have faced up to life in prison if convicted of the original charges.
