Hesperia Man Lured Women to His Home Using a Fake Name and Voice

(Arturo Alfred Martinez: San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department)

A man in Hesperia was arrested last week for being an absolute creep.

Authorities say Arturo Alfred Martinez, 42, contacted women through social media and disguised his voice in hopes of luring them to his home for sex. He was only arrested after investigators found one of the alleged victims was a minor.

After receiving complaints from numerous women, including a 17-year-old, deputies went to the home in the 7600 block of Corona Avenue in the High Desert. The women claimed they were solicited by Martinez who used a false name and phony female voice.

Martinez solicited women through babysitting services, cleaning service, real estate companies, taxi services and possibly other delivery businesses, a news release said.

According to authorities, Martinez is a registered sex offender after a conviction for indecent exposure. Investigators said they believe there are other victims.

Martinez was arrested on suspicion of contacting a minor with the intent to commit a sexual act.
