AG Nominee: Journalists Should be Jailed for Stories that "Hurt" US

If Attorney General nominee William Barr had his way journalists could have the book thrown at them for writing what he calls "hurtful" stories about the country.

While answering questions during his Senate confirmation hearing, the nominee implied he thinks it would appropriate to imprison journalists who "hurt the country" with their reporting. 

“I can conceive of situations where... a news organization... knows that they’re putting out stuff that will hurt the country...There might be a situation where someone would be held in contempt."
