Actor Tom Sizemore Arrested on Suspicion of Drug Possession

BURBANK (CNS) - Actor Tom Sizemore was arrested in Burbank when police found drugs in his car during a traffic stop, it was reported today.

Officers stopped Sizemore last Saturday, because his Mercedes-Benz E350 did not have a front license plate and the registration tag for the rear license plate was expired, according to the celebrity news website TMZ.

Officers searched his car and found drugs, believed to be methamphetamine and heroin, TMZ reported. A passenger in the car was also arrested for suspicion of misdemeanor possession.

Both men posted bail and were released. The case is under review by the Burbank City Attorney's Office, TMZ reported.

Sizemore has struggled with substance abuse over the years, at one point starring in the 2007 VH1 documentary series “Shooting Sizemore,” which dealt with his attempts to regain his career after struggles with addiction.

Sizemore also has a long history of brushes with the law. Most famously, he was sentenced to six months in jail in 2003 for beating up his then-girlfriend, “Hollywood Madam” Heidi Fleiss.

In 2005, his probation was revoked when he was caught using a prosthetic device to try to pass a drug test. Sizemore eventually got his probation reinstated, but he tested positive for drug use in 2006 and was given another three years probation and ordered to take weekly drug tests.

The following year he was arrested on suspicion of drug possession in Bakersfield and sentenced to prison for violating his probation. He was originally sentenced to 16 months in jail, but a judge granted Sizemore credit for time served in Los Angeles County jail and a stay at a drug rehabilitation center and he served nine months behind bars.

Sizemore is best known for his role as Lt. Col. Danny McKnight in the 2001 war drama “Black Hawk Down.” In 2004, he played the role of tabloid photographer Rex Harper in “Paparazzi.” Since then, he's had a number of smaller roles in a variety of films and TV shows, most notably recurring roles in the USA Network drama “Shooter” in 2016 and the Showtime series “Twin Peaks” in 2017.
