Southland Gas Prices Drop To Lowest Amount Since Last January

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today to its lowest amount since Jan. 25, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent to $3.339.

The average price has dropped 13 consecutive days, decreasing 8.9 cents, including three-tenths of a cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 4.4 cents less than one week ago and 14.8 cents lower than one month ago but 9.6 cents higher than one year ago.

The Orange County average price dropped to its lowest amount since Jan. 25, falling 1 cent to $3.297, the 19th consecutive decrease.

The Orange County average price has dropped 11.9 cents over the past 19 days, including two-tenths of a cent on Monday. It had risen five times in the six days immediately before the streak of decreases, increasing 4.7 cents.

The Orange County average price is 4.4 cents less than one week ago and 13.2 cents lower than one month ago but 8.5 cents higher than one year ago.
