Sitter Disguises Dead Baby to Look Asleep and Gives Him Back to Mother

A Wisconsin woman has been charged with first-degree murder after police say she killed a baby she was watching and then hid the death by making it look as if the infant was asleep.

In her initial court appearance, Marissa Tietsort was ordered to remain in custody on a $500,000 cash bond in connection with the October incident.

A criminal complaint filed with the court accuses Tietsort of killing a 2-month-old boy, one of two she was babysitting.

She then bundled him up in a snowsuit, strapped him into a car seat and pulled his hat down over his eyes before returning the children to their mother.

"She thought [the baby] was sleeping, as he would normally be sleeping at that time of the day," the complaint reads. When the mother went to take the baby out of his car seat, she realized "his legs were rigid and remained bent at the knee."
