A teacher at the University Preparatory High School in Visalia was caught on video Wednesday, cutting a student's hair while screaming the national anthem.
“What so proudly we hail!” teacher Margaret Gieszinger yelled out. “By the twilight’s last streaming, whose bright stripes and bright stars!”
Gieszinger is seen on video tossing some of the student's hair behind her, then continued begging for the next student to allow her to cut their hair.
“Next,” Gieszinger said holding up the scissors. “I’m not done … Next.”
The video then shows the students running out of the classroom as their teacher begins moving towards them. Gieszinger was later arrested on suspicion of corporal injury to a child.
A spokesman for the Tulare County Office of Education confirmed that she will not return to her classroom following her "disturbing behavior".
According to The New York Post, Gieszinger has had her teaching credentials suspended on two different occasions before.
