Southland Gas Prices Drop to Lowest Amounts Since April

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 37th consecutive day, decreasing 1.6 cents to $3.596, its lowest amount since April 14.

The average price has dropped 28.1 cents over the past 37 days, including 1.2 cents on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 5.6 cents less than one week ago and 25.4 cents lower than one month ago, but 37.5 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 44.6 cents since the start of the year.

The streak of decreases is the longest since a 42-day run from July 6- Aug. 16, 2016.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 35th time in 36 days today, decreasing 2.2 cents to $3.537, its lowest amount since April 5. It has dropped by 28.6 cents over the past 36 days, including 1.3 cents on Wednesday.

The Orange County average price is 6.3 cents less than one week ago and 25.9 cents lower than one month ago, but 37 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 42.1 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped for 27 consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Nov. 21, then resumed declining the following day.
