Southland Gas Prices Drop to Lowest Amounts Since April

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 36th consecutive day, decreasing 1.2 cents to $3.612, its lowest amount since April 19.

The average price has dropped 26.5 cents over the past 36 days, including 1.1 cents on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 4.6 cents less than one week ago and 24.5 cents lower than one month ago, but 38.7 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 46.2 cents since the start of the year.

The streak of decreases is the longest since a 42-day run from July 6- Aug. 16, 2016.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 34th time in 35 days today, decreasing 1.3 cents to $3.559, its lowest amount since April 13. It has dropped by 26.4 cents over the past 35 days, including 1.1 cents on Tuesday.

The Orange County average price is 5.1 cents less than one week ago and 24.2 cents lower than one month ago, but 38.5 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 44.3 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped for 27 consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent last Wednesday, then resumed declining on Thursday.
