A teacher in California faces child abuse charges after a video shows him punching a 14-year-old student.
Marston Riley, 64, was teaching his music class at Maywood Academy High School when the altercation with the student occurred.
Another student recorded the incident with their phone, showing a student confronting and taunting Marston until he snaps and punches the student repeatedly until another person intervenes.
The LAUSD released a statement on the incident, saying:
"We are extremely disturbed by the reports of the events that occurred at Maywood Academy High School. We take this matter very seriously and do not condone violence or intolerance of any kind. Los Angeles Unified is cooperating with law enforcement in investigating this incident. Crisis counselors and additional School Police patrols will be at the school on Monday to support our students and staff."
Marston is scheduled for court on November 30th.
