There were up to nine different variations of plastic found in the samples.
Humans are ingesting these plastics because of food packaging and all the different beverages put in plastic bottles.
Microplastics are even in the air, tap water and soil allowing for even more to be consumed.
You can limit the exposure you have to microplastics by avoiding as much plastic packaging and containers as possible.
