Garcetti Heading To Las Vegas For Political Speeches

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti is scheduled to give a series of political speeches today in Las Vegas, Nevada -- the third state he has visited in four days.

Garcetti is set to speak at the United Brotherhood of Carpenters International Training Center, and the Culinary Union Local 226 get-out-the- vote rally in support U.S. Senate candidate Jacky Rosen, gubernatorial candidate Steve Sisolak and congressional candidates Susie Lee and Steven Horsford.

Garcetti also plans to attend separate events in support of Horsford and Rosen.

On Sunday, Garcetti used the keynote address for a Democratic Party event in Charleston, South Carolina to encourage party activists in their efforts to win local and state races.

“Our reach must always exceed our grasp,” Garcetti said at the Charleston County Democratic Party's annual Blue Jamboree, in remarks published by the Charleston-based The Post and Courier.

Garcetti also spoke at a fundraiser in support of attorney and ocean engineer Joe Cunningham, who is running for Congress in South Carolina's 1st District, and attended services at Royal Missionary Baptist Church and Charity Missionary Baptist Church, both in North Charleston.

Garcetti delivered the keynote address at the 2018 U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Assembly Awards Dinner in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Friday.

Garcetti then returned to the Southland to join comedian Billy Crystal for Saturday's grand opening of Palisades Village, a restaurant and shopping center described by its owner as a “walkable village” home “to over 40 uniquely curated boutiques, entertainment and fresh food experiences.”

Crystal is the honorary mayor of Pacific Palisades. His wife Janice is the honorary co-mayor.
