By any reasonable measure we have one of the strongest economies in modern history, President Trump has rebuilt a broken military, and we are pushing back hard against America’s enemies.— Lindsey Graham (@LindseyGrahamSC) September 5, 2018
Senator Lindsey O. Graham quickly came to the defense of President Trump after Bob Woodward's revelations in his new book, "Fear."
The senator, who once called Trump "unfit for office," defended the President in a series of tweets and denounced Woodward's book.
Woodward’s book describes a “nervous breakdown” of the executive branch, with some senior aides allegedly conspiring to remove official papers from the president’s desk so he couldn’t see or sign them.
Southern lawmakers began voicing concerns about the content written in the book that the president had called Attorney General Jeff Sessions a “dumb Southerner” and mocked his accent.
Trump went on to deny those accusations in a tweet Tuesday night.
The already discredited Woodward book, so many lies and phony sources, has me calling Jeff Sessions “mentally retarded” and “a dumb southerner.” I said NEITHER, never used those terms on anyone, including Jeff, and being a southerner is a GREAT thing. He made this up to divide!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 5, 2018
