Police Say Two Brothers Fend Off, Kill Alleged Burglar at Queens, NY Home

Police say two brothers fought off a man at their Queens, New York home after the alleged burglar broke in early Monday morning.

According to The Daily News, the 26-year-old alleged burglar broke into the home through the front door around 2:40 a.m. early Monday morning. But, he didn't get far after a 16-year-old boy who lived there, confronted the man, and summoned his 27-year-old brother for help.

The pair then fought off the alleged burglar using a baseball bat and possibly a knife, cops said. The fight then moved out to the street as police were responding to the 911 call of a burglary in progress. Emergency responders say the 26-year-old wannabe burglar suffered head trauma and what appeared to be a stab wound to his upper body. He was taken to Jamaica Hospital where he later died, cops say.

The two brothers were taken to the 113th Precinct stationhouse on Monday to be questioned about the incident. It was unclear whether they will be charged.

According to WPIX 11, the brothers' mother and sister also live in the house.
