A High School Student Suspended Over Trump Shirt Awarded $25K

An Oregon high school student who was sent home because of his Donald Trump shirt just got an apology...and a $25,000 check.

The issue started when 18-year-old Addison Barnes arrived at school in a T-shirt that read "Donald J. Trump Border Wall Construction Co".

A few people in his class were offended and voiced their distaste over the clothing and when Barnes was asked to change he refused.

He later sued the school, eventually reaching a settlement of $25,000 and a letter of apology from the principal.

Barnes says he sued to "stand up for myself and other students" who hold "right-of-center" views.
