"Urban Inferno: The Night Santa Rosa Burned" Premieres Tonight

A new documentary that examines the devastating fires that roared through California wine country leaving hundreds homeless and dozens injured or killed, will have its world premiere tonight in Santa Rosa.

"Urban Inferno: The Night Santa Rosa Burned" was directed by Santa Rosa native Dr. Stephen Seager, as he documents the events of the firestorm as seen through nearly 40 minutes of cell phone footage taken in the early hours of Oct. 9.

The project, Dr. Seager told KSRO in an interview, was one that needed to be made by "someone who lived it."

The locally produced film has been entered into more than 30 film festivals worldwide. Proceeds from tonight's premiere at Santa Rosa's Roxy Stadium 14 will be donated to various fire-related charities.
