French Butchers Asking For Protection From Vegans

Since waving a meat cleaver in a person's face is illegal, butchers in France are asking for police protection from violent vegan protesters.

In recent months, Parisian butcher shops have been hit by militant vegan activists throwing fake blood, scrawling abusive graffiti and even breaking store windows.

The French Confederation of Butchery, Butchers and Delicatessen is appealing to the government for help since they claim the attacks are becoming more aggressive.

There has been one incident so far where one militant vegan was given a seven-month suspended sentence for praising the killing of a butcher.

However, L214, one of the bigger named vegan groups, says they wouldn't participate in violent acts since that's "exactly what it's campaigning against."
