JetBlue Offers Free Flights To Firefighters

By now you have heard the heartbreaking story of Long Beach Fire Captain David Rosa.

On Monday, as firefighters in Long Beach responded to reports of an explosion and fire at a senior housing facility, Captain Rosa was shot and killed by what police say was a 77-year-old resident of the complex who was targeting another neighbor. 

Captain Rosa died of his injuries. Another firefighter and a resident shot at the scene are recovering from their injuries.

Captain Rosa, a 17-year veteran of the department, is survived by his wife and his two sons.  A fund has been set up to help his family.  To donate CLICK HERE.

Funeral services for Captain Rosa are open to the public and scheduled for: 

Tuesday, July 3rd at 10am
Long Beach Arena
300 East Ocean Boulevard 

JetBlue Airlines is making a very special offer to fellow firefighters across the U.S. who wish to attend the funeral for Captain Rosa.

According to CBS 2:

"The Long Beach Firefighters Association Local 372 says the airline will cover ticket costs for up to two firefighters from each department, within three days before and three days after the services.

Firefighters will need to call 1-800-JET-BLUE (800-538-2583) and ask for “Fallen Officer Booking”, giving Capt. Rosa’s name and providing the necessary details (fire department & union name/number, badge number and a department email address.)"
