Hit-and-Run Results in Fatal Death, Help Locate Suspect

Early Monday morning a Simi Valley hit-and-run crash resulted in the death of 32-year-old motorcyclist, William Allen Miller.  The collision took place in the 2000 block of Tapo Street between Cochran and Eileen streets at around 8:30 a.m. Police are searching for a blue 2006 Ford Escape believed to be linked to the crash. According to VC Star, the Ford Escape was traveling north on Tapo when a left turn sent it colliding into the motorcycle traveling North. 

The Simi Valley Police Department is asking the publics help in locating the driver of the vehicle. 

The vehicle, shown in the attached photo, is a blue 2006 Ford Escape SUV with license number 5RXA480. 

The person of interest is 64-year-old Simi Valley transient Robert Chaffin(photo attached). If the vehicle or person of interest are seen by a member of the public please call the Simi Valley Police Department at 805-583-6950.
