Iran-Spain World Cup Game To Be Shown at Paley Center

 BEVERLY HILLS (CNS) - Telemundo's Spanish-language coverage of today's Iran-Spain 2018 FIFA World Cup game will be shown live on a movie-size screen at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills.

The telecast is set to begin at 11 a.m. Admission is free. Paley Center members receive preferred seating.

Games throughout the tournament will be shown at the Paley Center. Games that include a Spanish-speaking nation will be shown in Spanish.

Iran enters the game at Kazan Arena in Kazan with a 1-0 record, having defeated Morocco, 1-0, Friday, for its second victory in its 13 World Cup games. It also has three ties.

The only goal came when Moroccan forward Aziz Bouhaddouz headed the ball into his own net five minutes into stoppage time in the second half.

Spain tied Portugal, 3-3, in its tournament opener Friday, with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring all three of Portugal's goals, including the tying goal in the 88th minute of the 90-minute game.

Spain is 10th in the rankings compiled by FIFA, soccer's international governing body. Iran, known as Team Melli, the Persian phrase for “the national team,” is ranked 37th.

The Spanish team is known as La Roja (“The Red [One]”), La Furia Roja (“The Red Fury”), La Furia Espaola (“The Spanish Fury”) and La Furia (“The Fury”).

Seventeen of Spain's players play for Spanish teams, four in England and one each in Germany and Italy.

Nine of Iran's players play for Iranian teams, three each in Greece and Russia, two each in the Netherlands and Qatar and one each in Belgium, England, Portugal and Sweden.

Iran forward Sardar Azmoun plays for FC Rubin Kazan of the Russian Premier League, whose home stadium is Kazan Arena.
