Man Accused of Threatening Neighbor Gives Up After 8 1/2-Hour Barricade

NORTH TUSTIN (CNS) - A man who was barricaded inside his home in unincorporated North Tustin for eight and-a-half hours gave up today without incident and was arrested for allegedly threatening a neighbor, authorities said.

The incident started about 5 p.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of Treasure Lane, Orange County sheriff's Lt. Todd Russ told City News Service. The man gave up about 1:30 a.m. after sheriff's SWAT deputies told him they had a warrant for his arrest, Russ said.

The man was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats, he said. No injuries were reported.

A news videographer at the scene said homes near the man's home were evacuated during the standoff.
