Alleged Golden State Killer Unexpectedly Back In Court

The man believed to be the Golden State Killer will return to court today after making a brief court appearance yesterday.  The Sacramento County DA's office and the defense attorney representing Joseph James DeAngelo have filed counter motions regarding access to a sealed search warrant.

DeAngelo's attorney filed a motion to stop the search warrant, while the DA filed a counter motion.  The judge continued the hearing to this morning to allow more time to review the motions.

DeAngelo has yet to enter a plea on two counts of murder in Sacramento County following his arraignment last Friday.  He is facing six other counts of murder in Ventura and Orange Counties, and could be linked to as many as four more killings.

He was originally scheduled to return to court on May 14th.
