Man Allegedly Shoots Daughter's Ex-Boyfriend After He Crawls Through Window

A man has been hospitalized and may face a possible burglary charge after allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend's home in Santa Ana where the woman's father shot and wounded him, police said.

Police say 38-year-old Robert White of Garden Grove, was wounded around 1:30 a.m. Sunday at his ex-girlfriend's residence in the 1600 block of McFadden Avenue. Santa Ana Police Cpt. Anthony Bertangna said police had gone to the residence earlier Saturday night after they received a report of a domestic disturbance.

"He left prior to our arriving, (and) we completed (a) report,''  Bertagna said.

But police say, White later returned to the residence, entering through a window.

"That's when the father fired his weapon striking the suspect,''  Bertagna said. ``He was transported to hospital and is in stable condition. The  father was interviewed by detectives and released.''
