Two bodies have been found and recovered in the search for a missing Southern California family that went missing during a road trip between Oregon and San Jose. Officials say search crews found the family's submerged SUV 3-6 feet beneath the water in Eel River.
A team of more than 20 was working to remove the vehicle from the river using a tow truck when they discovered the two bodies inside. Officials identified the two bodies as 41-year-old Sandeep Thottapilly and his 9-year-old daughter Saachi. Last week, the body of 38-year-old Soumya Thottapilly was recovered about seven miles from where the family's Honda Pilot went off Highway 101 earlier this month.
The family was reported missing on April 8th after they failed to show up for a visit with relatives in San Jose. A powerful storm dropped up to five inches of heavy rain in the area the day they went missing.
Search crews are still looking for the family's 12-year-old boy.
