Trump: Caravan is Broken Up but Wants Military to Guard Border Wall

President Trump spoke Tuesday and claimed that the caravan of migrants crossing Mexico with the intent to enter the US illegally has broken up due to Mexico's "strong immigration laws".

“I have just heard the caravan coming up from Honduras is broken up, and Mexico did that,” Trump said, saying Mexico caved to pressure from the U.S. to act.

Trump also told reporters that he has spoken to Defense Secretary James Mattis about placing military at the border.

“We are going to be guarding our border with our military. That’s a big step,” Trump told reporters.

“We cannot have people flowing into our country illegally, disappearing, and by the way never showing up for court,” President Trump said at the White House. “If it reaches our border, our laws are so weak and so pathetic … it’s like we have no border.”
