Trump Tweets as Over 1,000 Hondurans Attempt to Cross Border Illegally

Nearly 1,200 migrant Hondurans are marching in a caravan through Mexico with the intent on entering the US illegally.

These types of caravans occur every few years in southern Mexico dubbed the 'Stations of the Cross'. In these marches migrants will dress up in biblical clothes and carry crosses, typically as an Easter protest of the brutalities faced by people who to cross Mexico to get to the US.

Meanwhile, President Trump has commented on this movement through Twitter. On Monday Trump tweeted that "Mexico has the absolute power not to let these large 'Caravans' of people enter their country." He said that the U.S. has "no effective border laws" and called on Congress to "immediately pass Border Legislation" again suggesting lawmakers invoke the "nuclear option" to abolish the filibuster.
