Parkland School Deputy Seen on Video Hiding During Shooting

Surveillance video taken during the February 14th shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland Florida shows School Deputy Scot Peterson hiding while Nikolas Cruz massacred seventeen students inside the school. Peterson stayed in his hiding spot until well after Cruz was gone.

Peterson later resigned after he was suspended for failing to confront the shooter.

“The video speaks for itself,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that accompanied the release of the video. “His actions were enough to warrant an internal affairs investigation, as requested by Sheriff Scott Israel on Feb. 21. After being suspended without pay, Peterson chose to resign and immediately retired rather than face possible termination.”

The video starts 2:22, one minute after the shooting initially began. Peterson is seen running to his golf cart. Watch above and follow here for full coverage.
