Teen Who Recorded Teacher's Anti-Military Rant Invited to White House

John Kelly, the White House chief of staff has extended a special invitation to the teen who recorded a Pico Rivera teacher and councilman making disparaging remarks about the military. Victor Quinonez and his family were invited to the White House after Quinonez recorded Gregory Salcido making disparaging remarks about U.S. armed forces.

Quinonez said he was being berated by the teacher for wearing a Marines sweatshirt in class. He said it wasn't the first time he'd been the target of Salcido's barbs.

Since the video went viral, the El Rancho High School teacher, who is also a Pico Rivera City Councilman, has faced backlash from students, veterans and community members over his comments. Salcido was put on paid administrative leave while the school board investigated his comments.

A GoFundMe page was set up to help Quinonez and his family make the trip to D.C. You can donate at www.gofundme.com/victor-quinonez.
