Elon Musk has many business ventures but the most bizarre might be the 20,000 flamethrowers he just sold. Even weirder, the flamethrowers are part of a fundraiser to help the billionaire reach his goal of $10 million to fund his plan to build tunnels underground in Los Angeles.
Musk himself called the idea of selling flamethrowers a 'super terrible idea'. California State Representative Miguel Santiago was dismayed by the sale given the recent devastating wildfires.
For $500 buyers got their very own, limited The Boring Company flamethrowers AND fire extinguisher. Musk also sold $1 million in Boring Company hats and maintains that his brand of flamethrowers is safer than what can be purchased from Amazon.
