A Village in Italy is Offering Homes for $1

When a moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's...a dirt cheap house!

A small village in Italy, called Ollolai, is offering up the deal of a lifetime as they are selling homes for only about a buck.

That's right, you could own your own beautiful home on cobblestone streets in an Italian village that looks straight out of a movie...

What's the catch you may ask?

Well, besides the initial one euro payment...as the homeowner you must also commit to a refurbishment of your home within three years.

As the homes are considered to be in rather poor condition, most renovations are estimated to run about $25,000.

Mayor of Ollolai, Efisio Arbau says the idea behind the sales is to revitalize the village and stimulate the local economy by bringing in more people and jobs.

"We boast prehistoric origins. My crusade is to rescue our unique traditions from falling into oblivion."

Arbau says so far the plan seems to be working as a few homes have already been sold and he's received over a hundred more purchase requests.
