Several Southern California Republican lawmakers on board a train that crashed in Virginia are okay. Representatives Steve Knight, Ed Royce and Mimi Walters all tweeted separately this morning, saying that they are safe and uninjured, as well as their spouses. They also said to pray for the victims and thanked first responders.
A train heading to a GOP retreat in West Virginia slammed into a garbage truck, killing one person and seriously injuring another. White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders says no members of Congress or their staff were seriously injured.
