The FAA is taking a closer look at the death of skydiver who fell onto a Perris, California roof on Monday. Investigators say the victim crashed onto the roof of a home on Caldera street in Perris, California. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
One witness said the skydiver nearly landed on his house instead.
"He was coming down right in my backyard at first, and then when his chute deployed, it kind of like, kicked him up, and took him to the next house behind us and he hit the roof very hard."
The 27-year-old Canadian man was reportedly competing in a wingsuit skydiving competition going on out of the Perris Valley Airport. The competition was suspended following the accident.
The skydiver was believed to have taken off from Skydive Perris, which is located only a few miles away from the home.
Authorities say the investigation is on-going.
