Student Released After Being Detained By Border Agents

A student from UC Berkeley is out of custody of the Border Patrol in the San Diego-area.  Luis Mora got busted in late December after crossing the border into Mexico, and then getting stopped by border agents when he reentered the U.S. which was a violation of his visa.

He was released Wednesday after complaints flooded the Otay Mesa Detention Center, and his lawyer paid his $1,500 dollar bond.  Officials say the 20-year old still faces deportation, but it could take years before his trial is sent to Northern California where he lives.  Mora plans to be back at school on Monday.
